Study on Yield Formation and Matter Production Characteristic of Super-high Yield Population of Super Rice in Chengdu Plain

Abstract

 The yield formation and matter production characteristics of super-high yield population of super rice varieties Ⅱ-You 602, dexiang 4103, Q-You 8 were studied. The results showed that increasing the seed setting percentage and storage-capacity was very important for super rice from medium yield (less than or equal to 9.0 t/hm2) to high yield (from 9.0 t/hm2 to 10.5 t/hm2)  following the grain per ear improved. However, the realization of super-high yield (greater than or equal to 10.5 t/hm2) depended on the further increasement of seed setting percentage under the condition of great sink capacity in super rice. Additionally, the yield of super rice was positively correlated with the matter accumulation amount of different growth stages after the tillering stage, respectively. The key to attain the high yield of super rice was to enhance the capacity of matter production after the heading stage, and it's essential to increase the matter production in the heading period for achieving the super-high yield of super rice.
