Effects of Different Straw Incorporation Depth on Grain Yields and Qualities of Rice

Abstract

Effects of different straw incorporation depth(0 cm, 10 cm, 20 cm) on yields and qualities of late maturity japonica rice  Ning 9108 were investigated. The results indicated that the panicle number of rice was decreased slightly, whereas the number of grains per panicle, seed setting rate and 1000-grain weight were all increased, leading to a significant increase in grain yield, rice appearance and eating quality were improved, amylose content was decreased with straw incorporation of 10 cm and 20 cm depth, and more effects with 10 cm, than that of 0 cm.
